AFTER 10 YEARS OF TRAVELING, PAUL OAKENFOLD HAS FINALLY FOUND A HOME AT RAIN NIGHTCLUB
“Paul Oakenfold Presents: Perfecto Las Vegas” Every Saturday Night Through Summer ‘09
(Las Vegas, NV; June 2008) – Las Vegas based N9NE Group and Palms Casino Resort proudly announce Paul Oakenfold, one of the world’s leading DJ/remixers, to hold court at Rain Nightclub beginning this Fall in his first Resident DJ position in the United States. “Paul Oakenfold Presents: Perfecto Las Vegas” was conceptualized specifically for Rain Nightclub, the legendary 25,000 square-foot nightclub and concert venue at the Palms Casino Resort known for its special effects and international headliner acts. Named after his label, Perfecto Records, the show will take place every Saturday beginning August 30th through Summer 2009. Oakenfold is slated to perform at 26 of the show dates with other internationally-acclaimed DJs performing in his absence. “This will be the most extravagant nightlife experience Las Vegas has ever seen,” says N9NE Group Vice President Michael Fuller. “It will include everything from video and audio entertainment to performance artists and props.”
Oakenfold’s residency starts immediately following the completion of his global “Greatest Hits & Remixes Tour,” a 20-selection strong collection of his seminal dance recordings and remixes that celebrates the career of an artist whose combined releases have totaled almost two million in sales in the U.S. alone. Oakenfold is a two-time GRAMMY nominee, and his 2004 album “Another World” remains the best selling dance album of all time. Oakenfold has previously held DJ residencies at Cream Nightclub and Home @ Leicester Square in the U.K.
The N9NE Group’s dedication to diversifying the types of music played at its venues was a key factor in Oakenfold’s decision to sign on as Resident DJ of Rain Nightclub. “There is nowhere in America other than Las Vegas that I would want to be a resident DJ,” Oakenfold says. “It is the world’s oyster, and the Perfecto nights at Rain Nightclub are going to take clubbing to a whole new level.”
Rain Nightclub is located on the casino level of the Palms Casino Resort at 4321 W. Flamingo Road and features the N9NE Group’s signature VIP amenities including state-of-the-art sound, lighting, pyrotechnics, and ultra-premium bottle service. The multi-level space includes 21 private areas, VIP rooms, dance floors, and multiple bars. For reservations and additional information, please contact 702.940.7246.

Well the big day is almost here. SV2 will soon be SV3 with the addition of their expected baby girl Vie Leelu. We are so excited so see and hear Sandra's greatest mix to date, Vie! (Pronounced V meaning life) That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that Sandra Collins (SV2) will not be touring again until her triumphant return at this year's Coachella Music Festival in April. Motherhood will not be slowing Miss Collins down one bit, and even though you will not be seeing much of her in public for a few months, rest assured that she will still be presenting her monthly radio show "SV2 Presents" on Proton Radio, working in the studio on a brand new album/productions and keeping her audience up to the second with the greatest tracks on the planet. Everyone of us on her team want to congratulate her on her latest gig in life and are confident the best is yet to come... stay tuned.

REAL DETROIT WEEKLY readers voted DJ Kenneth Thomas as Motown’s Best Electronic Artist.

by Keith N. Dusenberry
Traditionally, Detroit is Techno Town; but this year, Real D’s readers recognized the steady rise of trance and progressive by voting Kenneth Thomas as Motown’s Best Electronic Artist.
Constantly pushing forward toward his goal of being “able to take this sound around the world and make a long-sustaining career out of it,” the one-time Motor resident DJ reached new heights this year, signing with Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Records and touring across the globe with the heavyweight himself.
The current moment finds Thomas playing six or more shows a month at venues across North America and compiling his first mix for Perfecto, set for summer release with the working title Perfecto Summer mixed by Kenneth Thomas. “It’s a precursor to my proper Perfecto Presents CD that will be out late this year or 2008,” Thomas explains. He’s also doing a bunch of remix projects and some A&R scouting for Perfecto. “They kinda fell off releasing any singles the last four years due to the industry fluctuating so much,” Thomas says, “but I’ve got Paul back on the idea of recharging the label and coming back proper this year.” All that, and a big Perfecto summer tour!
But don’t think his rising profile will give Thomas cause to abandon The D. “The truth is, this city has been amazingly receptive to the sounds I love,” he says. “Maybe parts of the local dance music scene haven’t been the most supportive, especially in the beginning, but there has always been a clear base of support for this sound. It’s actually been pretty amazing — every step of the way I’ve found a solid core of people that have embraced this sound. … I also feed on the working mentality of this city. I put so much work and effort behind this sound I love so much, and I thrive on the ‘do it yourself’ mentality of this city, that I don’t want to leave. Detroit is an underdog city; I thrive on that. I like being the underdog. So, in that sense, what better place for a ‘trance’ DJ than Detroit.” | RDW
